Where to post the sign
- On the door, at eye level. The customer who sees a crowd through the window should be able to scan before deciding whether to come in.
- At the host stand or counter. A table-tent version handles the people who walked in first and asked second.
- On the sidewalk. An A-frame with the sign catches walk-by traffic and lets them join from across the street.
- Next to the kiosk. Some people prefer their own phone to a shared tablet. Offer both.
Getting the link right
Your check-in link lives in Settings, then Self Check-in, along with a QR code you can save directly. Frequently asked questions
In MakeTheQueue, open Settings, then Self Check-in. The page shows the check-in URL for the location and a copy button. Paste that URL here. If you want the code to open one specific queue's form, the waitlist page's QR dialog gives you a link that goes straight to that queue.
Yes. The generator encodes whatever https link you paste, so it works for a MakeTheQueue check-in page, a booking page, or any other web address. It does not check that the link opens a waitlist.
On a letter-size sign at the door, the code prints at roughly five inches across, which scans from several feet away. For a table tent or a counter card, print the page at 50 percent; phones still read a two-inch code from arm's length. Keep the white margin around the code.
No. The QR code is drawn in your browser from the link you paste, and the print dialog is your own. Nothing is sent to MakeTheQueue or anyone else.
