If a site closes or you no longer need it, you can delete the location. MakeTheQueue will only let you remove a location once it has no queues attached, so that your analytics and history stay intact.
Delete a location
- In the admin sidebar, click Settings, then Locations.
- Find the location card you want to remove.
- Click Delete on the card and confirm.
If the location has queues, the delete will fail with an error. You need to handle those queues first.
Move or remove the queues first
Every queue lives at exactly one location, so before you delete, decide what happens to each queue:
- Go to Settings then Queues.
- Open each queue attached to the old location.
- Either change the Location dropdown to a different site to move the queue, or delete the queue if you no longer need it.
- Return to Settings then Locations and delete the empty location.
What about history?
Deleting a queue also removes its entries and appointments, which affects past analytics for that queue. If you want to keep the record, move the queue to another location instead of deleting it.
Common problems
- Delete returns an error about queues. The location still has at least one queue. Move or delete those queues first.
- I deleted the wrong location. Deletion is permanent. Recreate the location and its queues from scratch.
- The kiosk or display page is blank. The URL still points at a deleted location ID. Update your saved tablet or TV link to the new location's
/kiosk/:locationIdor/display/:locationId.
